Jack Gerus is an MBA candidate at The University of Alabama, having recently completed his biochemistry degree at Bama. Though he began school with the intention of becoming a doctor, Jack has now shifted his focus to the business world with the hope of one day owning his own business. Throughout his time in Alabama, Jack has been involved with several organizations that have connected with and shaped his interests. He served two terms as treasurer of his fraternity, Theta Xi, after helping to re-establish it on campus in 2021, and gained experience with handling the finances of an organization. In addition, he presided over Bama's genetic engineering club and led a team of students in an effort to create a plasmid toolkit for use in myriad projects. Since his stint in organization leadership, Jack has gotten involved in his local church and now leads a small group every week.
Although Bama is a long way from his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio, the pull of warm weather and an unparalleled football program was unbeatable. Moving 500 miles from home meant making a whole new set of friends, learning a new area, and stepping out of his comfort zone. Now, he couldn't imagine living anywhere else and even gets a bit shocked at the sight of snow. As a long-time fitness enthusiast, Jack hits the gym with friends as often as he can. Outside of working out (and class, of course), he loves trying his hand at making new recipes, hiking through the forests around Lake Nicol, and reading the many books he orders online.
